Gavin: “I can’t comment on that.” 

Killjoys as a show treats your relationship as it does any of the queer characters, where it’s not a thing, like nobody cares that Gared and Pree are in love and married. And so I just wondered what it was like for you guys to play this positive queer relationship and bring that onscreen when we don’t have a lot of queer rep on tv?

Gavin: I think, speaking for myself, it’s great that - like you say - it’s with science fiction. You’re able to do stuff where it’s not based in reality so it’s kind of like how things should be. It is what it is. We love each other, you know, and enjoy each other’s company. And that’s all that matters is there’s no label on it. You know, and it’s great joy out of that. Just having fun. It’s great to see that, Great to be in a world where it doesn’t really matter what the situation is . It’s just the love is what matters, basically.

Thom: Which is Michelle, really. I mean I’ve told her about this. She said, in her world - when she gets to write her shows - she gets to write a world that she wants to have happen. Her dream world: which is where none of that matters anymore. It’s other things. There’s still class wars. There’s still other things going on. But, she said, I love that in my world we’re over that already. We’ve moved onto where we should move onto. Not other wars to fight. Cause there will always be something else to fight. So don’t fight each other for stupid reasons. Find real reasons to have a war.
