This morning I got to ride Snowbird before the sun came up. It was a welcome change after a week of Ibuprofen, ice, and heat. I'm recovering from a major injury, a recovery that took a hit about a week ago. I pulled my erector spinae last Saturday dropping into Silverfox. I couldn't stand up straight for about three days. I worried I might have reinjured my back seriously, and spent much of the week resting. By this weekend, all was well again. Thank God. Early morning training at the Bird starts at 6:45am. It's pretty dark in Little Cottonwood Canyon until after 7:30am. So the first run or two were interesting. I felt rusty trying to run gates. Nonetheless it helped me see the weird shit my muscle memory resorts to after a week off snow. A little time doing technical work in December makes for great turns the rest of the season.
