Worth It ((Terrorohmexican))
“Ryan, don’t ask any questions. Book the soonest flight to Atlanta.”
Ryan looked at his phone after the line went dead.
“Max what the fuck are you getting me into to…” Ryan sighed before pulling up his laptop.
Ryan sat back in his chair as he stared at his booked flight seat. He spent a few minutes pondering as to what Max was planning until his computer screen went into sleep mode. “Well, looks like we’re going to Atlanta.“ Ryan turned to his dog. ~ “Are you okay, man? You’ve been sounding kinda tired.” Luke asked. “Yeah, I’m fine, Toonzy. Its just Max has been- ugh nevermind. Its stupid.” “Wait what? Do you need me to beat him up for you?” Luke asked, his voice now serious. “No, no! Its nothing like that! Max wants me to fly to Atlanta but he won’t tell me why. Its been driving me crazy!” Ryan said dramatically. Luke just laughed. “What?!” Ryan accused. “You! You’re like a child! You can’t stand not knowing a surprise someone has for you!” Luke chuckled. “You’re no help, you know that?” “You’ll be fine. Short flights are that bad. And from Chicago to Atlanta is only like an hour and a half. Two hours at the most.” “I guess…” ~ Two days later Ryan found himself on a plane bound for Atlanta. He had no idea of to expect, except that he was going to be gone for at least a week. Buddy was wagging his tail during the entire flight. Ryan didn’t even realize that they were landing until Buddy jumped at the window. “Woah now, Bud. We gotta calm down. Gotta stay calm.” Ryan told him, although he was moreso trying to convince himself. “Sir? We’re landing momentary. Do you have a pet carrier for your dog?” The flight attendant asked. “Oh yeah, of course.” Ryan smiled as he started to get the carrier bag ready for Buddy to jump into. ~ Ryan was looking for Max even before he got off the gangplank. He rolled his suitcase over to where Max told him to meet him. “Ryan? Over here!” Ryan turned around to see Max standing in line at Subway. Ryan smiled as he walked over. “Hey Max.” Ryan pulled him into a hug. “How was your flight?” Max asked, kissing his cheek. “It was alright. I’m glad it was only an hour and a half though. I don’t think I’ll be able to do a longer flight.” Ryan chuckled. Max let out an awkward laugh. But before Ryan could question it, Max started talking. “By the way, I ordered you a sandwich too.” “Aw babe! You didn’t have to.” “Oh hush, I knew if I didn’t, you would’ve ate like half if mine.” “Well-” “Don’t deny it. I know you, Ryan.” Max laughed. “Mayyybeee.” Ryan giggled. “Alright, we gotta go now.” Max said, looking at his watch. He payed for their sandwiches and started leading Ryan away. “Uhm, Max?” “Yeah?” “The exit is that way.” “I know.” “Then where-?” “We’re late. Run.” And with that, the two were dashing through the airport, hand in hand. Ryan let Max drag him along, seeing as Max is was the one who knew where to go. “Get your passport out!” Max called back to Ryan. “My passport? Why do I need my passport??” “Ryan! Come on! They’re closing the gate!” They made it just in time. By the time they made it on two the plane, all the other passengers were seated. Ryan blushed as he struggled to get his carry on into the overhead compartment. “Needs some help there, short stuff?” Max grinned as he pushed Ryan’s suitcase up. “Thanks, Maxy.” “Are you more comfortable in the window seat or the isle?” “Uh, I don’t know… I’ve never been on this huge of a plane before.” “Alright, how about you take the window then. Flying into this place in really beautiful.” “But its already dark out. We won’t really be seeing any scenery when we land.” “Oh we will, trust me. I’ll wake you up when we get close to landing.” Max smiled, placing Buddy on Ryan’s lap. “Okay…” Ryan sighed. ~ “Hey, Ryan. Come on, hun. Wake up, they’re serving breakfast.” “Huh? Breakfast? In the middle of the night?” “Well not exactly… look out the window.” Ryan gasped. It was already mid morning. Through sections of clouds, Ryan could seeing pretty greens and golds. “Daaaamn.” Ryan whistled softly. “I never thought I’d say fields are the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.” Max cleared his throat. “Besidesss my gorgeous boyfriends.” Ryan giggled. Ryan leaned over to kiss Max’s cheek. “How long was this flight anyway?” Ryan asked. “A little less than 8 hours.” “8 hours?! Where the fuck are we?! Wait, oh crap. Are there children near us?” Ryan looked around frantically. “No, no. There isn’t any children around.” Max laughed. “Alright good.” Ryan sighed in relief. “But you still didn’t answer me. Where are we?” “I can’t tell you. Its a surprise.” “Excuse me, miss?” Ryan asked a passing flight attendant. “Which airport were we landing in?” “No, Ryan! I told you its a surprise! Sorry, ma'am.” Max smiled at the attendant. “Why are you like this?” Ryan pouted. “There’s only a half an hour left. Be patient. It’ll be worth it.” ~ Once again Ryan found himself carrying his dog off a plane. Once again Ryan found himself rolling his suitcase through a large airport. Once again Ryan found himself holding Max’s hand. Ryan took in everything around him. He watched the people walking by, the flight gates they went past, and more importantly, the welcome posters on the walls. “Max? Are we in Ireland?” Max just grinned at him as they walked to international customs. Max took the lead when it came to answering the customs guy’s questions. “When he asked why we were here, you said we’re visting friends…” Ryan started, trying to debunk it. “Wait, are we- are we going to see-” “Max? Ryan?” A familiar voice called out to them. Ryan whipped head, looking around Max. “Brian?” Ryan gasped in disbelief. “Hi, Ry.” Brian beamed. “BRIAN!!” Ryan handed the dog carrier off to Max before dashing into Brian’s arms. “I’ve missed you so much, Ryan.” Brian said softly, kissing Ryan. “You have no idea how empty my arms have felt without the both of you, bunny.” Ryan wrapped his legs around Brian’s waist as he placed as many kisses as he could onto Brian’s face. He heard Max chuckle endearingly as Brian walked over to where he had left Max. “See, Ry? Aren’t surprises worth it?” Max smiled. Ryan nodded as he buried his head in Brian’s shoulder. ~Fin~
