some scav hunt items bring the wrong. this item, from 2009, brings the wrong. however, it also brings creepily talking appliances, and the world needs more creepily talking appliances.
i had forgotten what this was a reference to, in the ensuing years...apparently, it's a reference to a really terrible movie from the seventies called Death Bed: The Bed That Eats.Â
though, in researching that, i also found out that Patton Oswalt (yes, the same comedian whose tweet i posted yesterday) has made Rape Stove: The Stove That Rapes jokes. what i can't verify, however, is whether those jokes preceded this scav hunt item, or followed it in time.
if the scav item came first, though, one must wonder whether he gets some of his comedic content off our ridiculous little lists. :-)
