AM: This is sort of funny. I’ve never cared for Odie, because he’s essentially a punching bag for Garfield’s unchecked bad attitude. In this strip though, it’s made clear that Odie is conscious of the polarized nature of his relationship with Garfield. The Yin to Garfield’s Yang, the North to Garfield’s south, the Dog to Garfield’s Cat. It’s an inherently harmful relationship for both of them, but it’s a necessary one.
