I wanted to share a quick look back at the Indigenous Music and Arts Festival from last weekend!
This was my second year attending (last year I even got the chance to meet Gary Farmer, who was so sweet!) and I had such a great time! I went with one of my friends, and they introduced me to frybread, which we shared.
I think my favorite part was watching the traditional dances. I got to participate in the Friendship Dance, and that was so special and meaningful to me.
The festival is held every year at the Ganondagan State Historic Site. I didn't realize this at the time, but it's actually the original site of a 17th-century Seneca town, which is just incredible.
I also very much appreciated the Pride colors throughout the grounds. It made the space feel so inclusive and welcoming.
