Just found this in an old forum and wanted to share

Seer:
Are my eyes decieving me, or do we see energy surging through Gyaos' body when the plasma fireballs hit it? Oh that is wonderful. That also goes well with Irys exploding at the end of G3.
Tomzilla:
...And if anything, I've come to respect the Hyper Gyaos a little more. It actually charges the second fireball! It's obviously fighting against it. And considering its predecessor could achieve escape velocity in seconds, I've no doubt it's a strong flier. That's certainly one reason why Gamera's fireballs didn't knock it across the district.
...
What makes Gamera's fireballs really nasty is how they hit you. Basically, they smash into your body, explode, and instill you with its burning energies (which'll make your body go boom). It's sheer destructive force. And when I say that I mean it has the best of both worlds when it comes to projectiles. It attacks both the focused and widespread areas of its target. So unlike Godzilla's ray, which is a focused weapon, Gamera's fireballs attack the focused spot, and then explode all around it. It also surges the body with energy, as those pictures prove. Explains why Gyaos blew up quite nicely.
