Sentries are bipedal drones which are vaguely human shaped. They are blocky and not nearly as lifelike or elegant as anthroparians. Sentries are used extensively by private companies for basic and routine security. They're often seen acting as night shift personnel, club bouncers, or basic security at museums or banks.

They are rarely used for actual law enforcement, except for in very rural places, where they are sometimes used to supplement the civil corps. Sentries are required by international law to be equipped with "less than lethal" weaponry if they are allowed to be armed at all, and their use is regulated. The extent of these regulations, and how well they are enforced, varies from place to place.

Sentry Drones have limited language capacity. They can understand basic communication in Lingua Franca, and have a small selection of 6-10 pre-recorded statements and orders, but they cannot generate new speech.

When functioning properly, sentries only resort to violence when pressed. They will issue several warnings requesting compliance before becoming hostile. In the case of an unexpected attack, Sentries will attempt to shield civilians.
