Discounting the rest of the picture, I painted this over an acrylic left by a #PattiMollica student. It does look more like a child's drawing than a painting but I was concentrating on the #flower of the #rose and I think I got it. I decided to take a photo of my two #lilac #coldwax #oilpainting in the sunlight. No wonder my old friend #RichardThompson only painted while he had the light. No wonder #PeterSaul had the head of the #architecturedepartment at #UT make him bigger doors. #galkydlite (at Hudson River Valley Art Workshops)

This is the culmination of all my work on the #lilac #series! #MediumLilac (sizewise) #oilpainting with #coldwax and some #impastomedium. The #coldwax predictably dulled the paint down. 70/30 mix. So I added #galkydlite to bring the sparkle up. I lost count of the layers. 8-10. I even used a little #Gamsol in the beginning to do the leaves 🍃. (at Hudson River Valley Art Workshops)
