Not LGBT myself, but still noticed this
Dear Tough Gloves, I want to start an ask blog and you seem rather experienced in RPing and ask blogs. Are there any general tips you can give me on ask blogs?
Ah gee, I am very flattered that you came to me for advice, but I am not sure if I can be much of a help, since I kinda do that ask- and RP-blog stuff very spontaneously and improvised! But I’ll try my best.
Okay here we go!
1. Try to figure out if you want a pure ask-blog or an ask-and-RP blog. The latter gets you the most exposure since you also can interact with other blogs, which will give you more people to interact with in turn! But the former is also really great if you want to tell a story! Now I am not saying that telling a story with an ask-AND-RP blog is impossible, not at all, but it might get harder to organize things! But if you don’t mind about that, go ahead!
2. This is pretty obvious, but try thinking about what your character would do and how they’d react in certain situations as often as possible! It definitely helps in developing their personality and motivations, and also makes the whole thing even more immersive!
3. If possible, you should make a bio of your character that people who first find your ask-blog can read. That way, these people can find out more about your character without reading through pages and pages of RPs! If necessary, you also can edit said bio page as time passes and your character evolves!
4. Tag your bigger RPs or story-lines with a name. Trust me, that makes organization much easier!
and of course 5. Have fun!
