species: Galabor class: Elder Dragon body type: pseudo-brute wyvern diet: primarily Deviljho, monsters of similar invasive-damage level, big fish, Fatalis is a delicacy if they can find one

history: Long ago, when it was believed that Fatalis had committed crimes of horror against man kind, a species of elder dragon made themselves known. Galabor as they’re called. With a drive to protect humans, to bring healing and recovery to the environment, and to have the determination to preserve life in its purest form even if it leads to their death. A monster that simply gives a damn about their world. Any individual in current time has NEVER seen any Fatalis ever in their life, but it’s become an instinctual trigger should they find one, to go berserk and do whatever they can to kill it.

Of all the monsters in this chaotic world, Galabor has been documented to be the most “human” creature out there. Brushing hunters off should they attack but being very mindful about potentially hurting them. Keeping their distance when hunters are on the job unless a Deviljho is involved. There has been a reported case of one scarred individual leaping over the gates of Astera with ease only to sit itself down calmly so researchers could study it without the need to fight.

Similarly; this scarred one has visited multiple times with with an infant of its species for various reasons. One of which being a challenge in the arena which, to this day, the commission believe to be this creature training the hunters to fight its kind should something happen. Sure enough something did happen, as a differently scarred individual was documented to be so heavily diseased that it went mad. Wiping out an entire herd that was on the road to recovery from a Deviljho infestation. Thankfully there’s enough eggs to rebuild the herd but the fight with this diseased individual wasn’t an easy take-down.

The Galabor species behave like human hunters by masking their scent with mud or rock-scraped moss and even being accompanied by a rescued Palico that refuses to leave it and its infant. They hunt Deviljho’s with the mindset of “kill on sight” but whenever they do hunt, they’ll try and give nearby hunters a chance to get needed resources. Should they run into a Rajang, the fight is less “eat” and more “remove”. with a Brachydios it’s to drive them away, same with Glavenus but they’re not above killing them to eat as well.

It’s been rumored that this species can go an entire month without food or water just by feeding off fat stores in its body. The way to tell which one’s been doing this is the color: well fed are a rich dark purple with faintly glowing red eyes and their heads held high in pride; a month without fuel dull to a light grey-purple color with a burning red glow to their eyes and their heads low to the ground like they’re anticipating prey. This species is built to hunt tough creatures no matter how weak they are. Sure, they might not always win but they wont be killed in the process.

All in all, Galabor follow a very strict code.

They do NOT hurt humans.

They do NOT attack monsters who aren’t a threat unless they get to a similar level to Deviljho.

Any monster that IS on the similar threat level as Deviljho is to be hunted and either killed, beaten into submission, or driven off.

Fatalis, Deviljho, and any elder dragon, black dragon, or regular monster, of similar danger or destruction is a KILL ON SIGHT! Or, at the very least, a fight to weaken it.

Be mindful of the surrounding area, don’t cause unnecessary damage if one can help it.
