The Moonbeam Princess, Kazuhiko Watanabe, 1961
It has been announced that the first cour (Episodes 1-12) will be adapted into a manga. Said manga will be published by Gakken and released in bookstores and their online manga platform, Comic Nora, by 15th September 2026. This platform is pretty new and in need of titles to offer readers, so YSST seems like the perfect fit. The mangaka in charge is Yuu Minazuki (or Minadsuki as she spells it), who you might be familiar with if you browse YSST fanart on Twitter/X. She has had several of her manga and doujin published, and frequently shares her fanart on several of her socmed accounts (check her Twitter/X above for more links).
Since all 12 episodes will be condensed into one tankobon volume, I assume each episode will be one chapter, and the entire volume will be 12 chapters (Cour 2 will probably be adapted similarly). This means that it's unlikely there will be too many changes/additions to the story; maybe just here and there, since it's so short. Nonetheless, I think it's great that Bandai is allowing fans (especially amateur mangaka) the opportunity to contribute to the franchise. Looking forward to this, and I hope I can get the manga not too long after release.

This is the machine featured at the end of today's episode, a toy phonograph kit made by the Gakken company of Japan (it seems to be missing one piece of plastic? wonder if it was done so it wouldn't obscure the title). It uses a candle as sound recording medium, which if you ask me ("an" ecxpert) is ingenious if a bit misguided, this kit is very hard to get to work, which is probably later they made a different, more well known kit that records onto the side of a plastic cup.
Not the first time these kits appear in anime either, long ago I was sent this screenshot showing the Gakken premium gramophone (i have no idea what this series is)
