The roomie's meal, Gdansk
I wasn't there but the roomie stopped into a Milk Bar in Gdansk, ordered this. And I've got say; if you're ever in Poland make sure you eat at least one meal in a Milk Bar!
A Milk Bar is a type of restaurant in Poland known for -- renowned for -- affordable "Home style" cooking.
This is "Home Cooking" if you're polish... and I know I'm not Polish but, still...
I visited two of them in Krakow myself; one was good and the other was even better!
NOTE: Gdank is city bearing the unfortunate title as "The place that started WWII." In more ways than one.
Gdansk was the German city of Danzig. Following the First World War the stinking douche bags oops I meant "Allies" decided to chop off parts of Germany & Russia.
NO! The United States wasn't thrilled with this....
So the "Victorious Douche bags" decided there was no point in winning a world war unless they could create the conditions for another one, and started pulling off parts from Germany to gift to the newly formed Polish state.
"They need a port city, access to the sea!"
So they stripped the city of Danzing from Germany, splitting Prussia in two, and then took a bunch of more land to create the "Polish Corridor" to Danzing I mean Gdansk. And then 20 years later Hitler started his war against Poland in that very city, with an old German battleship opening fire on Polish fortifications...
THE SAME THING happened with Russia, if you were wondering.
The douche bags no I meant allies HATED Russia at that point. For starters, Russia got it's ass kicked suffered a political/societal collapse.
No that's not why the douche bags hated them...
RUSSIA SUED FOR PEACE! Russia made "A separate peace" with Germany, being unable to fight, and the raging douche bags saw that as a betrayal. AND THEN there was the communist revolution!
The commies executed the so called royals and THAT super-duper major pissed off "The allies." So there was no love loss. And "The allies" stripped Russia of a lot of territory... a lot of territory. And just as soon as Russia was strong again... guess what?
THEY IMMEDIATELY WENT TO WAR TO RECAPTURE THAT TERRITORY, just like Hitler did.
Ever hear the name "Putin?" Ever hear about the war in the Ukraine?
Same thing.
The Soviet Union collapsed and they lost all this territory, including the Ukraine. And just like every other time, as soon as Russia was strong enough they marched in and reclaimed at least part of what they lost...
History has a way of repeating itself, and that way is by the efforts of douche bags!
