Kevin wan't going to say it to Dan Heng, ever. Kevin's own pride and dignity included, this particular question sounded stupid already in his head. Besides, as much as Kevin appreciated Dan Heng indulging him whenever he did - and even if he would happily monopolize Dan Heng's attention - asking for more than voluntarily given felt unfair. Dan Heng had his own life, he owed Kevin nothing, and so on.

Of course, just standing there and staring from a distance was absolutely acceptable.

Since returning from Amphoreus, Dan Heng has become... somewhat... magnetic. Kevin couldn't explain it and wouldn't bother figuring it out in words: he simply felt pulled towards the nonexistent light that, he could swear, radiated from Dan Heng. It wasn't just his usual dependable aura: something resonated with all living beings as if touching a common primal element; long diluted and dormant, it now stirred to action... It wasn't the Imaginary or it wasn't only the Imaginary. It was something more-- down to earth.

Either way, in worst case, if Dan Heng asks why he's staring, Kevin would simply turn around and leave without a word as always, right?

It hadn't been a pleasant experience, and with Dan Heng still tediously regaining the physical prowess he'd lost, it was a slow, gradual climb to acclimate to his own changes and how differently he saw the world.

Meeting Kevin's gaze caused a spark between them, a world-weary understanding. Though thousands of years older than him, Kevin possessed a dull gaze that Dan Heng saw in the mirror every morning, chest aching from the recognition. Yet, the passing of the years hadn't dulled his attraction to the man, his powers of earth snagged with the Honkai Beast that had forged Kevin, able to resonate heartbeats like the pulse of earth and sky. Without hesitation, he came within close proximity, dauntlessly extending to cup Kevin's cheek before he could turn away. Though his skin was arctic to the touch, the earth knew its seasons and its snow and ice. He maintained contact, stroking his thumb along the apple of Kevin's cheek, relishing in the sight of this beautiful man.
