THERE WAS NO DENYING THIS NOW, AND THERE WAS NEVER GOING TO BE A LATER BECAUSE THERE WAS NEVER A START, THIS WAS A LOOP. She was still fighting with herself over it, was she not ? If it was genuinely the right decision, given so many during our lives that we can choose to act on and others to slip away. Having as much of a choice to take their LIVES as she had take their VOICE or their power. The idea that she could have taken over may lay in the dust, never picked up and never thought about, rather it would have worked was up to chance.

❝ Forget it ? No, not that. ❞

Leaning back in the leather chair, hands stay clasped in his lap. What he thinks about her REVENGE KILLING stayed within him, ever neutral. HAVE YOU FORGIVEN YOURSELF ? It does not look like it.

❝ Did you enjoy killing them and taking your life back into your own hands ? Do you still think about the other members ? ❞

skittish eyes and shaking tilt of a mouth, their paths often cross in the little town, hidden away in the mountains, far from too many knowing eyes. shoulders always sag, trying to make himself as small as possible, knows in her avoiding eyes that it is only a threat she sees in his built. unwilling, a knock comes to her door, knowing that she will refuse to have him inside, distrusting as she seems to be. but he was sent, a jack of all trades that is called all over town to fix and repair.

din doesn't think there is much he can do for her. ' was told about something wrong in your place ? sent there by the owner. ' shoulders hunched, brown eyes hidden by the visor of his cap, slight anxiety twists his stomach, awaiting for her words.

God, she didn't even need to finish her request before Lee's wrapped Georgia up into her arms again. Pulls her up by the waist and tucks her into her chest all snug. Kisses are peppered into her golden hair before a few reach her temples, fingers massaging gently into her back and shoulders to keep her close against her. Lee would hold her forever if she could.

It was too much.   It was, finally, too much.   The nightmarish violence done right in front of her, not even an arm's reach away. The blood that coated her hands, her chest, her face. It was all over the room. She would learn later it had even gotten to the ceiling, that there was the faint outline of herself on the wall behind her from the spray.   It was too much.

When she stumbled home, it was in a haunting march. Hollow. The drive was gone from her mind. She doesn't know when her keys got to her hands, when she'd gotten through the door, when she locked it behind her. All she sees is Georgia, and suddenly she knows what it means to see the light at the end of a great tunnel. God, she was the only angel to ever exist. She had to be. Lee's lashes flutter ever so subtly as her eyes come back into focus. What was that expression she was making? Why'd it tighten something horrible in Lee's chest?

       ❝ Georgia... ❞   Her name's holy in the softness it leaves her lips   ( why'd they taste like metal? ).   Not a prayer, but one answered nonetheless.

Lee had wondered when something would become   too much   for her. Every new case, every new horror, and it didn't seem like she'd get an answer any time soon. Today she thought might've been the day, but just like the last, it only left her with a hollow expression staring back at her through the precinct mirrors. There was an effort made to clean the blood off of her face, evident in the red swirling through the sink on it's way down the drain. When she'd gotten back home though, keys in the door and lock clicked open, that effort had apparently only been minimal. She still had bright red flecks underneath and behind her collar, ichor painted along the tip of her jaw and reaching up to her ear on the left without realizing it. Some in her hair. Some left on her button-up. Despite this, her expression is relieved, seeing Georgia the moment the door opens.

       ❝ Sorry I'm late, ❞   she says first, soft and exhausted as she steps through the threshold. The door is closed quickly behind her, eyes drifting down a moment.   ❝ Today was...   hard. ❞
