Today’s Trotskyist Character of the Day is: 16 GB of G.SKILL Ripjaws V DDR4 RAM!
Pimped up my computer a bit (please excuse the ginormous Noctua fan)
So I’m in love with my computer? Yeah pretty much.
I finished building this machine about a month ago, after about two years of saving/buying parts. I’m am blown away with how quickly and smoothly it runs. My first PC build in about 15 years. Named her Naomi Armitage after my favorite cyberpunk anime. She runs super quiet and super cool. Please feel free to ask any questions!
Specs/Hardware:
Case: Corsair Vengeance C70
PSU: EVGA Supernova 1000 T2
MoBo: ASUS Maximus IX Apex
CPU: Intel I7 6700k (not currently running it OC)
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kracken X62 (I was going to go air cooled but fell in love with this coolers aesthetics)(also I had to do some minor modification to the case to install it the way I wanted)
RAM: 16gb G.Skill Trident RGB 3200MHz 14-14-14-34 (not currently running it OC)
Hard Drives:
-System Drive: Samsung 960 PRO M.2 512GB
-Game Data: PNY XLR8 960GB SSD
GPU: ASUS STRIX GeForce GTX 1080Ti OC Edition (not currently running it OC)
Optical Drive: ASUS Blu-Ray Writer (BW-16D1HT)
Accessories:
-ASUS USB Bluetooth Adapter (USB-BT400, I had intentionally picked a board without any on-board wireless because I didn’t think I would ever use it... but it turns out I like my PS4 controller)
-Evercool Internal Storage Box (BOX-MK-BK, painted it to better match case)
-Replaced front case fans with NZXT AERs (120mm)
Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Chroma
Mouse: ASUS GX950
Headset: Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma (hoping to replace this with a wireless headset pretty soon)
I have also replaced the case window. It came with one for mounting fans on the window but it blocked the view of everything and I was going for a clean look. The stock window is also smoked and I wanted a clear window to show off the hardware.
As I said before the last time I built a computer was probably 15 years ago, but wow. The cable management on this case is amazing. I am just amazed by how easy it was to hide everything and keep it organized.
I’ve been considering getting some custom cables made to give it an even cleaner look, but money.
I’m not sure what to make as a first post, but here it goes.
Hello to Tumblr! I’m here to share my passion for building custom computers, and my push for hopefully making it into a career. My dream is to make building custom computers for clients be a job, as I absolutely love doing it. I love being able to build so many different things in such unique ways, and I love being able to make other people happy by making things to the best of my ability!
Here is where I’ll likely post things about the builds I work on and such, pictures of the hardware I use, and maybe things such as tutorials if anyone would be interested.
Thanks!
