The sky was clear. Since the day Rey met Luke, both began an intensive training with the objective that Rey learn everything about the Force. But, of course, that it was not only practical, but also in theory. So Rey took the opportunity to ask to her Master about events that happened in the past, and all the things he did when it was the Imperial Era. Somehow, Rey felt very close to him, as if both were family; and even this feeling was very similar to when she met Han and Leia, the bound with her Master, somehow, felt closer.
One night, Rey had lit a fire to prepare dinner. While food was cooking, Rey went to the Millennium Falcon in search for an object. A lightsaber. She walked firmly to her Master, showing a bit of insecurity and curiosity on her face.
—Master Luke? —She mussed, watching as the face of the Jedi turned toward her.
—What happened, Rey? —He inquired, slightly furrowing his brow with curiosity.
—I have a doubt…—She sighed, showing the lightsaber. Do you remember when I told you about the fight with Kylo Ren?
—Of course, and you were very brave. Kylo Ren had years of training and it’s great that you overcome him even if you weren’t a great fighter with the lightsaber. You are very strong. The Force is strong in you.
—Thanks, Master. —She smiled, not before save the lightsaber in her robes. —But I didn’t tell you something…
—And that is? —He asked, gently tilting his face.
—I did not have the lightsaber. Finn fought with Kylo before and he just got hurt. And when I appeared, and notice what Kylo was about to do, I only raised my hand for inertia and the lightsaber was up to me. —She answered, keeping her eyes in the ground. Seconds after, she looked up again. —I know this isn’t weird, but what it was is that Kylo called to the lightsaber before me and the lightsaber was closer to him. And the most logical is that the saber should have gone with him, not with me because the lighsaber was of his grandfather and it was yours for a little time, and you are family.
—Rey, I… I don’t know if you are ready for this. —He said seriously, placing for a moment his robotic hand on one of her shoulders.
—What thing? —She formulated surprised, almost pursing her lips.
—Neither do I have told you something, and I think I should have said it before. —He said, staring at Rey. —As you know, my father was named Anakin Skywalker, my mother was Padme Amidala-Skywalker and I have a sister, Leia Organa-Solo, which married Han and had a son, Ben Solo; or well, so he called like that before Snoke persuaded him to go to the Dark Side.
—Yes, I know that. I don’t want to sound rude but…—She started to say, but was interrupted.
—Let me continue, Rey. —He added softly. — Many did not know about my private life, however, but I got married a few years later, I had a daughter. My wife and I enjoyed much time with our daughter, and visiting different planets since she was very curious and she loved to fly. However, one day they were traveling alone and never returned ... The First Order, or rather, the beginning of the First Order chased them both with the aim of killing them, and they succeeded. Well, I reached to that conclusion as I never saw them again. I tried to locate the using the Force but never caught anything until years later a ship arrived here and I felt a presence of the past, a presence that for years I did not felt. —His voice showed calm, but his face and tears that threatened to appear, said otherwise. —Rey, the Force is strong in my family. My father had it, I have it, my sister and her son have it…My daughter has it.
Rey felt the tears fell on her face, and watched how it also fell down from the face of her Master.
—I…I…don’t un..understand, I am…? You are my...? —She tried to conclude the question, but her voice betrayed her.
—Rey…you are my daughter.
And so, without losing any second more, Rey went into the arms of her father who returned the embrace. Finally both had what they needed to years ... their family together.
