Been dealing with art block so I decided to draw a creature instead of a dragon. I might draw more of these creature designs, or I might not. Also went back to graphite cause it’s my favorite drawing medium

I made this cause I’m about to draw Smaug. Pretty sure he’s gonna be in the same semi-realistic style that this dragon’s in. I’m gonna try to combine graphite and colored pencil for simplicity’s sake.
Some time ago started drawing fully evolved Pokemon as semi-realistic dragons. I managed to draw draconic venusaur and charizard, but lost steam after that. Now, I want to try it again with the art skills I’ve acquired since my last attempt. I’ll probably get bored or frustrated and quit, but I want to try anyways. My goal is to draw dragons for the first 150 Pokémon! Fingers crossed! 🤞
Gotta get gud. Gotta draw. Must persist!

I occasionally like to look back on my old artwork. Since there’s some years worth of work, I’m able to see my progression. It makes me wonder what direction my style will take in the future
This beautiful creature is a combination of dragon, rhino, crocodile, fish, and a hairless bear. It took a couple of iterations to come to the final design, but overall I’m happy with the result. I call this species the Frilled Crocrhinbear
