Today I'm grateful for being scared to death of court next week. As I look back at my actions lately I can't help but to future trip about having a review hearing. That won't get me anywhere though. Having this feeling has really put me in check about my life. I'm sure you've all seen the movie where the guy gives the example of an alcoholic with a gun to his head and a drink in front of him. That is me as I face 34 months in prison right now if I don't get my ass on this. To most this would sound like enough motivation to make someone not use but I'm an addict in every sense and when I'm living in my old ways of thinking I will choose my drug of choice over anything and everyone. I understand that my choices will make my path be it in recovery or in prison. I just hope my current actions will show that I want this as I'm in drug court. It's time to turn in for the night to have a conversation with my higher power. To pray and meditate, talk and listen. My choice today is to actually believe finally that I am a true addict and I am powerless over all of it. I need these rooms and the guidance of good people around me. I will follow direction for once and accept what my life is all though I don't like it. It's time to enjoy this horrible feeling I have and grow the fuck up.
