I often fear for the future of hot rod and racing culture as we know it now. Not that car culture is going away anytime soon, but the front engine dragsters, the flathead powered hot rods and the days of working with your friends in the garage until all hours of the night seem to be slowly disappearing. Every time I see a parent with a young one with them at a car event it makes me smile. The idea that these young people could be the very ones that keep this pastime we all love so passionately alive for another generation could be here right now is hopeful. You often hear stories from people just like you and I, who at a young age were introduced to this verifiable madness tell stories of spending time with family in the garage getting dirty and building things together. So yes, this is a picture of a cute kid in a front engined dragster but this very kid could be the next John Force or Shirley Muldowney and may be telling stories in 2050 of this day at the Santa Margarita Time Trials in 2019 when they sat in a dragster for the first time. The dream begins. - - #carculture #racingculture #thefuture #futureracer #frontenginedragster #santamargaritatimetrials #film #analog #mediumformat #kodak #kodakprofessional #pentax #67 #6x7 #scottphotoco #blackandwhite #timeless www.ScottPhoto.co (not .com) ALL RIGHTS RESERVED (at Santa Margarita Ranch, Santa Margarita Ca) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4A93OYn6Dn/?igshid=1st49u2df8k0z
