Circuit of the Americas construction coming along, locals eagerly anticipating first race.
The real Circuit of the Americas track in SE Travis County may not be finished yet, but the miniature one in NW Travis County is getting ready for some racing in just a few weeks. Here is a recent construction pic. Keep your eyes out for some well known F1 cars to be showing up in Austin (in 1:32 scale) this May! Here is what the real circuit will look like: This circuit was designed using Ultimate Racer 3.0. Here's what it would look like in an ideal room The long leg angle had to be changed a bit due to room size constraints, but I feel this is a fairly accurate rendition considering it is plastic track and only 18 feet long. Lawsuit against Formula 1 and/or COTA
Just to be very clear- I do NOT want a lawsuit. I DO want the race to happen in Austin. Plain and simple for anyone who did not understand or who thinks I want to sue. Having an international caliber track with F1 and other racing here in Austin is good for everyone. Mr Ecclestone and Mr. Epstein need to arrive at some sort of compromise in a civil and timely matter, and Mr. Hellmund should be congratulated and compensated for his role in bringing this project to Austin. If all the parties could put greed and personal gain aside, they would all come out of this looking better than they do now with the constant bickering and public put downs. Working together they can all come out looking like heroes. This lawsuit is not about personal gain. If the parties involved want to air their dirty laundry, that's what lawsuits are all about, and the courts and the public will be able to see who the real villains are if the deal does not go through. I don't think any of the parties involved want that. Let's all hope for a speedy and positive resolution, and I look forward to racing in Austin in the near future. Read the full article
