How did you choose your major?
Omg yes I love telling this story because my major is my passion and no one on tumblr knows this story!
So when I was 10 years old and I was in 5th grade, my elementary school had a program where the mainstream students would go into the self contained special needs classrooms to play with the students at recess.
The staff of the special education classes noticed I got along really well with a student diagnosed on the moderate side of the autism spectrum. They asked me if I wanted to go to his occupational therapy (OT) sessions and I said sure even though I didn’t have the slightest clue what it was but knew it would get me out of class. I went to his OT session and instantly fell in love with the career.
So at the age of 10 I picked my career. It’s been a 14 year journey to get to my second year of graduate school, but I can’t wait to become an OTR/L (Occupational Therapist Licensed and Registered) staring in early 2019.
