near the end of season two.
Amy and Nate are in her car. She is driving along the road, humming along to the music playing. Nate keeps looking at her. He looks nervous.
Nate: (suddenly) Amy.
Amy: (turns down music) What?
Nate: (urgently) Stop the car.
Amy: (glances at him worriedly, but she does what he says. They're in an empty parking lot. She turns to him.) Nate, what's wrong?
Nate: (grabs her hand and looks at her. He leans in and kisses her hard before drawing back) I'm in love with you. (she stays quiet and looks at him) I know I said it before. I didn't know you then. I didn't know what love was then. But now...but you...I'm in love with you.
Amy: (leans in and kisses him. In a soft voice) I'm in love with you, Nathan Ryan, breaker of hearts.
Nate: (softly, serious. His voice is a promise.) I would never break your heart.
Amy: (whispering, their heads are very close together) I know.
Nate: I've never felt this for anybody else.
Amy: (still whispering) Neither have I. You are the best person I've ever met.
Nate: (hanging his head) I'm not a good person.
Amy: You are a good person. I see it. And I'm an artist. Artists see things that other people don't.
Nate: (shakes his head, but stops himself and looks at her) When I'm with you, I feel like maybe I can be a good person.
Amy: Well then, I better stick around. (They kiss again)
Nate: (he's fragile) Will you stay with me tonight?
Amy: Yes. Let's go home, okay? I just need to get my stuff.
Nate: Okay. (Amy starts to drive again. She has a shy smile on her face. Nate looks ashamed) I'm sorry I had to tell you in the Giant parking lot.
Amy: (looking at him) I wouldn't have it any other way.
