What is it about reading that you love so much?

How different books smell and how each story reflects the author in some way. Rereading, yes or no? Why/Why not?

YES. You always notice something different and most books change with your age, sometimes they make you cry or laugh when before you had nothing. What’s your favorite fictional world (i.e. the Wizarding World, Westeros, etc)?

Either the Wizarding World or Fitzgerald's New York.

What’s your favorite book, and why is it your favorite?

That's a very difficult question, so many books hold a special place in my heart. Charlotte's Web was the very first book I learned to read, but either Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, 1984, A Clockwork Orange, or The Great Gatsby. This is due to the time in which I read both and the story lines and how they affected my life from here on.

How do you approach adaptations of novels?

As far as movies go I have very low expectations because the movie should not be compared to a book to begin with. To fit a book into a 2-3 hour time radius is an injustice to either or. Both are different forms of media and thus should be treated as such. If you're one of those "ugh they cut ______ out of the movie!" people, you need to wrap your head around the fact that if every movie adaptation was exactly like the book the movie would be over 4 hours long and the normal public would not sit through that. So in short, if the characters are the same and the story follows I'm happy.

Do you read classic literature for fun? Or only when assigned?

If you mean Shakespeare, then no. I have several of Shakespeare's work and a book of disses for teachers but I find that you can't just read his work you must see it in order to understand it. 

What initially draws to you to a book?

The Author and amount of originality.

How do you explain the experience of reading to non-readers?

Imagine seeing a movie in your mind, you are in charge of how everyone looks, for your imagination formulates how each person looks. No matter how good the movie is, that character will never be the one you pictured at first read. It's a beautiful thing, reading is like a fun form of push ups for your brain and imagination.

Who is your favorite author, and what about their style makes them your favorite?

That's a difficult question because I have no real loyalty towards an author. I really love F. Scott Fitzgerald because of his wording, sarcasm and imagery. His words are simple enough that anyone can close their eyes and picture exactly what he is trying to create or tell us as the reader about.  Secondly, I love Edgar Allen Poe which is rather cliche for some. My father was the one who taught me how to read and he introduced me to Poe's work at the age of 10 and I fell in love with the imagery once more and his style. I am an emotional person and certainly his stories are morbid but they also have such sentiment. George Orwell does a lot for me as well, his writing subjects and bitterness reflects that of my own and for that I am forever grateful to him and his words.
