Opening a fresh pack of funpals is not only something EXTREMELY sentimental for me, but I get the honor of still getting to do it quite a bit. The bottom opening bag, the little cardboard insert, and THE SMELL. this always takes me back!!!!
These are from 2001, nearly 23 years ago, and the year I graduated high school. the bags hadn't really changed since the 80's when I was a kid opening his stocking and finding a new pack of briefs in them on Christmas. they were always my favorite presents.
These briefs are kinda fun because Fruit always tried to do something a little different (mainly from Hanes, who was the other powerhouse in children's under-apparel in the 70's, 80's 90's and early2000's- before Hancdcraft CRUSHED them both) and did things like special base fabric colors, screen printing glow in the dark inks, or, in this case, using a silver sparkle ink for the chain. They were well known for their large rear prints and usually the ink felt thick when you first put on a new pair (after mommy washed them first), especially when it came to the colored base fabrics, or the early fly prints starting around '95 or '96, which were thick vinyl appliqués before switching to traditional screen prints a while later.
