Having hobbies and interests are so important for our mental health and well-being, which is good for our physical health and well-being since the mind and body are so connected.
I pick up many hobbies that I try out and then put down for a while, only to pick them up again.
One of my hobbies that I pick up and put down that has been since childhood is the art of latch hooking to make rug art. Just recently I have found new love for making rug art.
The picture above is my latest project. It was supposed to be a Christmas present fory mom this past year, but I didn't finish it in time, and as you can see I still have a ways to go. So I got her something else and I'm just going to make this a whenever I get done present.
The very first latch hook project I made as an adult was this rather easy one I got at target for 20 dollars. It's the unicorn one that is in the picture below. I made it for my niece, but when I went to send it to her the package it was in got stolen, so all I have left is the picture.
I am just grateful that it was a kit project not a from scratch project so I can buy the same box and make an identical looking rug. What's a few more days of my life if it means my niece gets a cute unicorn rug decoration?
This is one of my hobbies that I really enjoy as I get to just tune out and turn my mind off as I get into the rhythm of the steps of latch-hooking. What are some hobbies or interests you enjoy?
