you look up from your phone and see toru, he shows up fashionably late like usual, as quoted from him "better to arrive late than to arrive unpresentable."

you roll your eyes, a small smile present on your face, you can't get mad at him, yes even if it isn't his birthday. he's exceptionally hard to resist when you try to ignore him, it's like he hold some kind of power against you.

"will it be your treat today, y/n-chan?" his tone cheerful and full of life, "of course," you give his forehead a little nudge after he kissed the back of your hand, a sweet habit he picked up as you two grow older.

"i thought, haji's with you?" the two of you starts to walk where your destination will be, the same ice cream parlor you have been going to for every birthday celebration.

toru shrugs at you, "i don't wanna share my best friend on my special day," he says with a huff, "what? are you jealous that haji favors me more than you?" you say in a teasing manner while getting the usual flavor you usually get.

"hmph, i met you first and the only logical outcome would be..." he looks at you, his chest puffing out a bit, "i'm your favorite." you shake your head at his childish reasonings and give him his ice-cream.

your little ice-cream date is soon interrupted by hajime's appearance, "you won't get y/n away from me, trashykawa" the setter quickly turns to look at him.

toru is about to complain when a neatly wrapped box is shove to his face.

"happy birthday, partner." hajime's voice almost inaudible while you smile at the pair, "awww look at my babies," you coo at them and giggle seeing toru getting teary-eyed.
