literallyyyy. i would recognize that half-joking semi-double take of "is this a bit, and how hard are we committing to it" anywhere. they joked about it SO much and you can just TELL that infume wasn't quite sure whether or not the joke was saying they were going to do it, or if the joke was going to be actually doing it. he thought about it!!!

La Fundación Médica Bocio (FUMEBO), organización sin fines de lucro dedicada a proveer asistencia sanitaria (médica y odontológica) y recursos sanitarios a comunidades vulnerables de la República Dominicana, realizó importantes donativos a diversas comunidades, tanto de la provincia de Santo Domingo como en el interior del país.
“Debido al COVID-19, creamos la iniciativa “fundas vitales” para proporcionar artículos de primera necesidad que ayuden a combatir y subsistir la pandemia en comunidades de escasos recursos”, explicó Benjamín Bocio Richardson, quien es doctor en odontología y fundador de FUMEBO, junto a su familia.
Algunos de los productos que contienen las “fundas vitales” entregadas son alimentos como “arroz, avena, legumbres, aceite, pasta, harina de maíz, café, salsa, sal, azúcar, sazones, proteínas, jabón antibacterial, pasta y cepillo dental, más desinfectante de manos”, detalló Bocio Richardson quien el año pasado representó al país en Londres, Reino Unido, en la cumbre más importante para jóvenes líderes del Mundo, “One Young World”, siendo el único latinoamericano seleccionado, ese año, como delegado orador.
FUMEBO lleva diez años de fundada y ha trabajado, sobre todo, en la zona sur del país, en especial las provincias de San Juan, Azua y Elías Piña. También han visitado Bani, El Valle, Sabana de la Mar, Monte plata (Bayaguana) y en Santo Domingo ha realizado donaciones en La Caleta, Villa Mella, Sabana Perdida, Mandinga y Brisas del Este. “Entregamos 754 “fundas vitales” en comunidades de Santo Domingo y Monte Plata y más de 500 fundas en la región sur, específicamente en Azua, Vallejuelo, El Cercado, Hondo Valle y Elías Piña”, aseveró Bocio Richardson.
En ese mismo tenor, este emprendedor joven especificó que en las misiones médicas realizadas, cada año, han tenido el acompañamiento del Hospital Dr. Dario Contreras y que la iniciativa de las “fundas vitales”, también fueron llevadas a cabo con el apoyo de United Nations World Food Programme, One Young World, más Bill y Melinda Gates Foundation”, finalizó el activista social, quien actualmente es embajador juvenil del ganador del Premio Nobel de la Paz Muhammad Yunus.
