Here’s a shot of the full “pink” moon rising over Kalamazoo, Michigan. Seen from University of Western Michigan's East Campus, we’re looking over the historical Vine neighborhood; the smoke stack is associated with the old Central High School at 714 South Westnedge Avenue.

Full Moon Composite

Following up on yesterday's post, I made a composite image of the full moon rising over the Vine in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

This technique comes in handy as the moon is extremely bright while the light on the surrounding landscape darkens quickly as the full moon rises. While it's *cheating* I allow myself to do this *if* I take the two photographs (exposed for the moon in one and the landscape in the other) one after the other only seconds apart. They are then married using Photoshop later.

FULL MOON IN LIBRA // The Libra Full Moon signals the first Full Moon of the astrological year and occurs during Aries Season. Aries Season focuses on ourselves, but Libra reminds us that we live with other people in a community. Other people can both help and hinder us on our path and the Libra Full Moon reminds us that our well being is closely linked to our relationships.

This Full Moon asks us to reflect on our relationships with others as well as the relationships with ourselves to assess if these are balanced and harmonious. Specifically we will be asked to find a balance between our needs and the needs of others as well as giving and receiving. This is an excellent time to assess which relationships require some work as well as those who are no longer supporting us. Or those that we have simply outgrown but we may have been holding onto too tightly and need to release.

I release the things that no longer serve me, the people and the places that never did deserve me 🌕 The first of the new astrological year. This Full Moon focuses on finding balance and harmony. In order to do this we must let go of all that is no longer supporting us, so that we can create space for new energies to unfold. The Libra Full Moon strongly highlights our relationships. We are asked to find a balance between our needs and the needs of others as well as balancing giving and receiving in our relationships. Any weaknesses in our relationships that we need to work on may be exposed this Full Moon, to shine a light on what needs to be healed. Some of our relationships may heal or those we have outgrown may end. The energy of the Full Moon will rid and release us of anything keeping us from being in balance.

It’s easy to forget how cyclical life is until you find yourself facing a situation that looks a lot like the one you just left. 🧐

We often assume that breaking a pattern means we won’t make the same mistakes again—we won’t date that type of person or end up in that kind of job.

But changing our patterns doesn’t mean we never see the same things again—it means we gain the ability to make different choices in those scenarios.
