Following up on yesterday's post, I made a composite image of the full moon rising over the Vine in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
This technique comes in handy as the moon is extremely bright while the light on the surrounding landscape darkens quickly as the full moon rises. While it's *cheating* I allow myself to do this *if* I take the two photographs (exposed for the moon in one and the landscape in the other) one after the other only seconds apart. They are then married using Photoshop later.

Here's a shot of the full "pink" moon rising over Kalamazoo, Michigan. Seen from UWM's East Campus, we're looking over the historical Vine neighborhood; the smoke stack is associated with the old Central High School at 714 South Westnedge Avenue.
