This was a #STEMARegional submission by @aalacer on Deviantart that I decided to include in my region.
As with any regional mons that deal with canon ones, these designs are separate from the region, and the Stema Region is not dependent on canon mons.
Here is a Sandygast line featuring fulgarite, glass tubes in the ground made by lightning bolts that struck the ground, melting the sand below. The branching pattern of lightning is called a Lichtenberg figure which can be preserved in an insulating material. Electricity can eventually flow through insulating material once the electricity has enough potential (voltage difference) to affect the insulator’s electrons, which do not usually like to rip off unlike conductors. Once the insulator gives way, this creates an avenue for the electricity to travel in hopes of settling their voltage difference.
Sandygast (Ground/Electric): During thunderstorms, these Sandygasts appear whenever a lightning bolt hits the ground. These Sandygasts have thin arms that are actually hollow; thus, the arms and hands are quite fragile.
Palossand (Ground/Electric): When attacking, the different tendrils on its arm dissipate as one becomes the dominant "arm" to unleash the attack. The larger arm on this Palossand is still very fragile, often taking shape when charging for their next attack.
