Datazar are mysterious lifeforms which live in an alternate world called the Kernel. Each creature has a biological drive to seek a human child that will make it stronger. By naming the creature, a bond is formed between human and Datazar. The child then disappears into the Kernel.
Pictured above are seven Datazar of average strength. Merazaru is a reptilian Datazar with a long red mane that stores fiery energy. Fukazaru is capable of flight, and bites on enemies with sharp fangs. The froglike Kerozaru uses mud bubbles to attack. Tosazaru- a fishlike Datazar- uses pure water to sweep away its foes. Raizaru is a horned rabbit with electric abilities and a penchant for close combat. Orchizaru has a flower growing from its head, which it folds in to protect itself. Nyazaru is a clever cat-like Datazar with sharp claws and above-average speed.
All Datazar are considered a hazard- not only for their abilities, but the disappearances connected to them. Worse still, they may be able to "fuse" with the children they spirit away, creating a̸̝̝̓͝ ̶̱̞̓p̷͓͔͌̏e̸̞̲͗r̴̟̔f̸̦̾e̴̲̣͑͛c̸͈̳̈́t̷̖̙̀ ̷̨̜̑b̸͔̓e̴͚̅i̷̠̇̈́ͅn̸̛̦̐g̶̣̏̉ ̶̛͔f̴̘̞̑͌o̴͎͛͆r̶̨̲͒ ̷̗̫̾̕a̵͈̅̃l̵͍̽͜l̵̞̈́͂ ̶̛̖̽w̴͕͘i̶͇̎̉l̸̮̈̔l̶͚̿͐ ̵̭̃̑ͅb̵̄ͅe̷̩̝̍͆ ̸̡̜̆ö̸̦́͋ṋ̵̃e̶̲͍͋. Any sightings should be reported immediately. Block off any children or electronic devices. But do not attempt to engage the Datazar. It could prove deadly...

So the Zunru from my other post have a digital "counterpart"- the Datazar. These guys started as versions of the Capsule Zaurus concept art for Digimon and exploded into...this. You can see earlier versions by searching that term on my blog.
As the post hints, it's possible to fuse with these guys. But only using artificial means. If you've seen Tomoya around- fusing with his Merazaru is how he grows a bigass canon from his back. If any of those posts said he can do this without fusing- no they didn't.
The Retrieval Squad is another group of baddies. Picture Digimon Tamers's Hypnos if they got their hands on Dark Rings from 02. Since we obviously can't trust them- the Kernel is occupied by Datazar and kids from abusive homes or places they just don't fit. It contains chests that allow easy access to food, clothing, etc. This isn't a "fairy gets your true name" situation, but a chance for these lonely or abused kids to find themselves through what the Kernel has to offer.
As for that Zalgo text? It's not something the Retrieval Squad wrote, but the primary antagonists of this setting. Who are they? ¯_(ツ)_/¯
This background is old as shit ugghhhh. I'm going to make new ones for when this thing goes live. But for now, these 2020 doodles will do.
Oh. Shinies. Yeah, I have those. They're all based on old recolor-species from an earlier version of this project (similar to BlackAgumon and co.). Kerozaru is loosely based on the Frog and Toad books, while Nyazaru roughly uses an earlier color scheme.
