I have to deal with a lot of people referring to Eva as Damon and Stefan’s sister and it honestly confuses the hell out of me?? In no way, in any shape or form, does it say anything about Eva being a sister to Damon and Stefan. Her mini bio, full bio, guidelines, verses AND side pop up tab say that Eva is the daughter to Zach Salvatore (and Amanda Rivers), and that she is the distant half niece to Damon and Stefan, descended by their half brother. I don’t know how they got “sister” out of “distant half niece”.
I mean like, I do get that the whole Damon and Stefan oc sister thing may be popular but that doesn’t mean that every female oc with Salvatore as their last name is Damon and Stefan’s sister. Eva could have easily been an oc with no ties to the tvd fandom whatsoever but with Salvatore as her last name. Would people have still made that assumption that she’s a tvd oc and she’s Damon and Stefan’s sister?
It just literally makes no sense for Eva to be a full blooded or half sister to Damon and Stefan. For one, her parents are Zach Salvatore and Amanda Rivers. Damon and Stefan’s are Giuseppe and Lily Salvatore. Second, Eva was born in 1991. Damon and Stefan were born in the 1800s. I’d consider it a miracle for Eva to even be a half sister to Damon and Stefan if she was born to completely different parents and a good century and a half after her ‘brothers’.
Sorry, this whole thing really bugs me. It just really goes to show that some people don’t pay attention to your bio at all and just assume stuff. No one should ever assume anything. Carefully read a person’s bio - even if it’s a canon - cause you never know the oc/canon might not be what/who you expected. And if you’re unsure about something? Ask. It never hurts to ask. Honestly, I’d much prefer someone come to me and ask about Eva rather than making their own assumptions.
