Rest Of My Life | â¤Â |
When Shannon woke up on the 21st April the sun pierced her eyes and made her whine quietly and roll over. Closing her eyes once again she tried to get back to sleep. But the sound of a laugh downstairs made her stir once again. Who the hell was waking her up? The laugh sounded again, and she sighed. Guess Iâm not getting any sleep today. She wondered for a moment if it was her mum, over again to pester her dad. But then she remembered, and when she did she sat up straight in bedÂ
Oh my God the wedding is today!
She clambered out of bed and slipped on her furry white slippers, and pulled on her robe. As soon as she opened her bedroom door the smell of tea, along with the smell of hot toast. Stepping down the stairs, the chatting got even louder-she was able to make out voices now. Of her mother, of her mother in law...of all her bridesmaids. The butterflies in her stomach seemed as though theyâd awoken too, and she pushed open the door, smiling softly at them âmorning..â she was cut off by her friends from England cheering and engulfing her in a hug âthe brideâs awake!â one of them cried, and she laughed âOi, ow! I want to sit down!â she collapsed into a chair with a happy smile, giving her mum a toothy grin in fake innocence âtea?â she chirped, only to be met with a smile and an eye roll from Norah âonly because itâs your wedding day.â she turned and got out Shannonâs bride mug that had been brought over by her grandparents.
Taking deep breaths, Ryan walked down the unfamiliar street toward the Case house. A house that heâd only been in very briefly when that asshole Price showed up and tried to wreck their lives. Now though, it was a completely different event. It was a wedding. It was....God, he didnât even know anymore. He didnât know if he still had a girlfriend...but if he did, it was her brotherâs wedding, for which he was chosen to be a groomsman (which he still wasnât sure was absolutely necessary). And he would have to see her today.
Crap.
It wasnât that he didnât wanna see her. He did. God, he did. It didnât make it any less terrifying. He went up the steps and rang the doorbell, stepping back with his hands in the pockets of his suit. He had gotten dressed before he got there, and with retrospect he probably shouldâve focused on actually going but instead he decided to get ready to avoid the awkward changing in a strange house part.
