a thing that occurred to me is xigbar’s clone’s creation was definitely xehanort’s fun way of trying to get around the fact vexen wouldn’t let him use the replica program at all. “i don’t want to make vessels of 12 xigbars but 12 xigbars is better than not enough vessels”

ANYWAY IDK IF VEXEN CAUGHT ON AND THAT’S WHY HE ONLY MADE ONE OR IF HE VEXEN WAS JUST “NO I WAS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT TWO OF YOU IS TOO MANY” AND REFUSED FROM THERE ON

I’m!!! there’s a lot of things i’m fond of here, of Even’s deliberation and inner monologue re: xehanort but let’s uh. let’s highlight some points

- Even’s literal immediate reaction is to put himeslf between Xehanort and 7. and also Riku but. Even was definitely not doing this specifically for Riku, it’s more of a “they’re my responsibility and i won’t let HIM harm them!” thing. 

- first words out of his mouth? “7 GET THE EMERGENCY PROTOCOLS”

and like!! i have a lot of Things about the emergency protocols!!! this is what Even made them for, so of course he’s going to go tell 7 to activate them, and it’s just!! I DUNNO!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!! i thought fondly about this bit of the scene a lot, up until writing it (and also occasionally after writing it!! but you know how some scenes you just Think About routinely before you get them down because you just love thinking about them)

So I love that there, where Even tells 7 to activate the Emergency Protocols!! it’s something i like a lot and am proud of. 

another thing i love: “I’m not here for your Program, Even” xehanort says, because he’s not. he’s here for riku. just riku, right now. 

OF COURSE EVEN ALSO REFUSES TO HAND RIKU OVER BUT I JUST!! I’M LOVE!!!!

- all the debate about um??? Even’s just inner monologue in general. the details he gives about the emergency protocols, fretting that they’ll affect Riku, worrying that he should have assigned someone who wasn’t himself the ability to undo them. he has a handful of replicas who have the authorization to activate the protocols, but once the emergency protocols are initiated, only Even can restart the program!!! A LITTLE SNAG, THERE, IN CASES LIKE THIS, IN THE EVENT OF HIS DEATH,,,,,, presumably he’ll work around that

i’ve scripted a few scenes for them but none of them were important enough to the plot to like, include!!! it was also more like, two scenes, total.
