Zelus smirked at her, his gaze glued to the mistletoe. "I can't say I'm surprised." He looked down at her, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Perhaps fate is trying to push us together, yes?"
As their eyes met, and Zelus spoke those wonderful words, Audelia felt as if she could kiss whoever put the mistletoe up. Of course, she wouldn’t actually, but what she would do was kiss him. He who was always near the top of the pack, who knew how to terrify and gain admiration with one look, he was perfect.
“If this is fate, I wouldn’t dare deny it.” Audelia smiled up at him with her small, coy smile that she so often used around him.
