“there you are,” he whispered into her ear as one hand brushed strands behind her shoulder before soft lips planted a kiss against the nape of her neck. he’d decided to sneak up on the girl after spotting her amidst the crowd of rowdy college students, realizing she was the one person he hadn’t seen all night. parties were their thing — intoxicating themselves with alcohol, dancing under the strobe lights, until they got tired of the loud music and the smoke-filled air at which point they’d leave the party together only to find themselves waking up beside each other the next morning. he tipped his head back to finish the remains of his drink, the other hand wrapping around her waist as he pulled her closer to him, “you having fun?” 

it was uncommon for the pair not to wake up in each other’s arms the morning after a party, but caleb had managed to get himself in the middle of a few inconveniences last night, one of which left him with a gnarly bruise under his eye. feeling slightly guilty for leaving her so abruptly after they took shots together, caleb made his way over to the sigma epilson house to pay her a visit. he figured she’d have heard about what happened by now, stories known to spread fast around campus. he also knew she was one of the few who wouldn’t judge. once the female opened the door, a sheepish grin tugged at his lips as he raked his fingers through his hair. “what do you say, rivera — you wanna help me cover this up?”
