Remus shook his head and lit up by a lone streetlight, Sirius noticed the way his cheeks and the tips of his ears seemed to darken slightly.
āThatās what I thought.ā Sirius crushed the cigarette under the heel of his boot. Then, he stepped up to hook his elbow with Remusās and started walking them back towards the hotel.
āBesides,ā he added, meeting Remusās gaze with a twinkle in his eyes. āWith a smile like that, how could I ever say no?ā

In 2018, Remus Lupin walked out of Siriusās life with no warning, no apologies, and no explanation. Sirius learns to be fine with it, he grows his life and his success into something most people would only dream of. He travels, he works, heās on billboards, heās got a nephew on the way. Heās doing more than fine.
Until Remus comes back after eight years of nothing, looking gloriously sun kissed and freckled from two years in the Mediterranean. Suddenly Sirius is not fine anymore.
