"You’re so caught up with impressing everyone that doesn't matter."
[ angsty sentence starter ]
Naeun tries her hardest to succeed in interests she wanted to try out for her own. Wanting to see if she can perfect it to let others become proud of her. Yet, those who she truly adores; where we they now? Her parents aren't there for her, siblings were around from time from time but is there a reason to impress anyone any longer? Not that she was one to be rather cocky to begin with but it's nice to see an amused reaction in one's face.
Sometimes she could hope that what she does was enough for someone. Perhaps, that's partially the reason to the exhaustion that runs through her body. Sleep could barely fix it by then. Despite it being one of her escapes currently.
The paint spills along the wooden floor, the bucket accidentally drops out of her hands and there's a sudden rhythm she can hear when her heart starts to race faster against layers of bones and skin. Her back rests on the surface of the chair in order to catch a breath and she takes a glimpse at the other male who was standing there besides the door frame. Concern written and sketched along his unique features. As if he didn't see this part of her, it happened once. Their first meeting. Yet he didn't question it thus far.
Joonhyo walks a bit closer to the woman, crouching down with his knee resting on the floor. Extending his hand to grasp a hold of a towel that was dangling off of the display in front of Naeun. "You're so caught up with impressing everyone that doesn't matter." He didn't mean to sound so harsh, the words emit out softly. Wanting to inform her that this hard work she's been putting on, on her own creations. As beautiful as it seems from his own perspective, the current one she's been doing seems forceful. There's barely any passion poured into it, the way her eyes were glimpsing through the colors with a dull expression while he placed himself on a chair besides her or in front. It's actually saddening to see.
"But." The color was absorbed in the cloth, thankfully it was getting clean otherwise it would have left a faint shade of green along the wood. Naeun bites down on her lower lip, feeling apprehensive so suddenly and she scoots her chair back in order to help the other male clean up the mess that was created. Her emotions were typically the same, the problems she kept away from everyone was too similar. They'll be poured out on accident, a mistake is what it'll end up feeling and she was there with nothing more than regret.
"There's so much you can do but there's a limit to it all." He reminded, wanting to help his friend the best way he can. Words seems to lose meaning but it doesn't stop him from speaking to the young female, he ushers out of the studio room momentarily to toss away the towel and wash his hands so the color won't stick to his skin for more than a day.
The brush was set back into the remaining room in the side near the paint buckets. Head tilted down in disappointment, in herself than Joonhyo thus far. He has a point but there were times where even when the correct pathway was right there yet she follows the latter. The complete opposite. "I just wanted someone to finally be proud of me." Her voice cracks, ruining the softness in her tone and her tears streamed down steadily along her cheeks. It drips down her lap when it reaches her jawline.
He picks up the words quickly, silently rushed himself back to where she was so nothing else happened. So things wouldn't turn out for the worst and when he sees her sitting still, he barely spoke a response back to her own comment. If anything, he's grown to be quite proud of Naeun after all this time.
