fruitygay: the fanbase part is a super interesting way of creator content vs audience reception esp because of the show's cast and who that will appeal to. makes me think of south park almost?? like how media is consumed and ultimately altered by their fans.... juxtaposition of how sunny is trying to expand the worldview over their show's runtime and southpark is changing to what its audience wants. admittedly i have never watched south park haha RIGHT sunny's unique in that rcg has explicitly had to turn away writers who were too offensive/awful, and newer seasons have gotten pushback by dudebro fans who are uncomfortable with more women writers/dennis being diagnosed with bpd (and thus canonically is no longer the "psychopath" a lot of people liked believing he was)/ mac coming out I've never seen South Park either, I've seen snippets of other adult cartoons with varying degrees of will and I think intent vs. what fans get from the initial content are pretty cut and paste with most of them. Like you said, South Park (and I'm assuming other shows) are adept at acclimating to their fans (whatever shitty men get their hands on it) and I think (I'd sincerely like to think) Sunny's getting away from that (praying emoji)

fruitygay: im speechless right now........ please become an IASIP studies major dude I'm SO into that concept lol As a show that attempts to be more than meets the eye (yet contributes to the same toxic fanbase that any other adult comedy does and fails in similar ways) it has so much potential for me to. attack it scholastically
