(( my last fic for the FF Kiss Battle for @chacusha with the prompt “stage kiss”, because my theater kid ass can’t ignore silly theater shenanigans with grade-school level production quality ))

“Are you sure this is a good idea?”

Terra looked up from her amateur carpentry. “What do you mean? Don’t tell me you’re having second thoughts. We’re nearly done!”

Celes sighed and examined their progress. Mobliz fared the worst in the wake of Kefka’s destruction, but it also paved an opportunity for new ideas. Perhaps it was more work than Celes anticipated when she tagged along with Terra once they and the Returners parted ways, but there was something to be said for renovating buildings and creating a town square. The platform stage they constructed needed more sanding and staining; it wasn’t opera house material, but it was theirs.

But that also wasn’t the point.

“I’m less worried about this—” She tapped the stage’s foundation with the toe of her boot. “—and more worried about what we’re doing.”

Terra’s features lit up. “You’re worried about the play?”

“Well, maybe worried isn’t the right word—”

“Oh, but it’ll be so much fun!” She abandoned her sandpaper to join Celes. “Think of how the children will love it!”

“Will they, though?”

“An epic fantasy about a knight rescuing a princess from a dragon? What’s not to enjoy?”

Celes raised a brow. “You want me to start a list?”

2. Who wants to stay in bed just a little longer? Terra. She likes to snuggle and relax. Celes struggles with staying asleep and would rather get out of bed and do something than lay there and stare at the ceiling. But Terra clinging to her and half-drooling on her shoulder is too cute to say no to.

4. When they can’t sleep, what do they do? Usually they just talk. In the beginning, Terra asks Celes a lot about their memories in the Empire that she lost. Sometimes Celes will read her a book. Other times, they just curl up in silence, appreciating that they can simply exist together.

6. Who falls asleep last, watching the other with a small affectionate smile? Always Celes!

8. Who gets extremely competitive playing Mario Kart? Definitely Celes, but Terra is surprisingly good at it without trying.

10. Who sets the other’s ringtone to something loud and obnoxious behind their back? TERRA FOR SURE.

12. Who does the hands-over-the-eyes “Guess Who” thing? Always Terra. Celes will make up ten random people before guessing Terra. It never gets old.

14. Who’s prone to road rage? Celes is just prone to “I’m alive and so is everyone else” rage, though Terra has a deep, smoldering rage that scares even Celes. It rarely comes out, but when it does? Oh boy.

16. Who reminds the other to put on sunscreen before going to the beach (or pool)? Celes. With magic gone, Terra forgets how easily she can burn, especially in the sun. Celes is always there to slather her with sunscreen (and give cute neck kisses while she’s at it)

18. Who gets the window seat? Terra. She likes watching the scenery and Celes is just happy to watch her being content.

20. What do they argue about the most? Dumb shit, like what Netflix show they’re going to watch or what they’re going to have for dinner or whose turn it is to take out the trash.

22. Who texts more often? On the regular - Terra. Sometimes Celes gets in an introspective mood and sends walls o’ text for an hour straight.

24. Who’s the better cook? Neither lol they always eat out or something.

26. Who puts the fork in the microwave? Probably Terra. It never bothered her when the fork burst into flames, at least when she still had her magic!

28. Who lets the microwave play the loud beeping sound at 1 a.m.? Also Terra. Look, she needed that mug brownie.

30. Who likes doing the dishes? Celes. Having a schedule to stick to keeps her mentally sound. She might not be in the military anymore, but she can conquer those dishes and she’s proud of it!

32. Who remembers what the other one always orders at a restaurant? Both, but probably Celes more so. Terra might remember what it looked and smelled like, but Celes remembers what it’s called and how to order it.

34. Do they go on dates? What are they like? ALL THE DAMN TIME. Just simple stuff, like park walks or visiting local shops. Nothing major. They’re just happy to be alive together and experience the world without the threat of the Empire.

36. Which one is the secret snuggler? Celes. Big time. She was touch-starved for too long and now she can’t get enough.

38. Who reaches for the other one’s hand while driving? They both do at the same time.

40. Who is the most affectionate? Terra is more verbally affectionate while Celes is more physically affectionate.

42. What is their favorite feature of their partner? Terra loves Celes’ arms and shoulders (and how well she fits in that embrace mmm yess) and Celes loves Terra’s smile and how it wrinkles the corners of her eyes and lips.

44. What are their nicknames for each other? I think they’d both call each other hun after awhile, but they do love saying the other’s name.

46. Who initiates kisses? At first, it was Terra. Over time, Celes tends to be the one who makes the first step.

48. Who tells their friends/family about their relationship first? Terra, though it’s accidentally. Sabin is probably somewhere like, “Oh, we already knew.” Setzer is elbowing a grumbling Edgar and telling him to pay up. Celes is facepalming and Terra is clueless.

Yeah, the closest I’ve ever seen for ship names for anyone in VI are mashing their names together. This seems to be really big in the Japanese community, especially on sites like pixiv. Celes/Terra’s ship name there is tinaseri or tinaceri (Terra going by Tina and Celes going by Serisu).
