ABILITY PROJECT -- FROSTBITE
The tactical and opportunistic powers of Ice imbue Iris to take on a defensive playstyle focused around a kinetic charge, simply dubbed kinetic energy. Hit enemies or block attacks with the shield to gain kinetic charge-- the amount stored is indicated by a collection of swirling stars around the bracelet on her other hand.
Kinetic energy can be manually activated to empower the shield, transofrming it into a powerful offensive weapon while sacrificing its defenses. You can't get more charge while empowered, so knowing when to use each mode is essential to mastering this ability. Kinetic charge can also be spent more passively, such as for icy projectiles or for the ability's "Arts".
The element of Ice is closely associated with Insects in this world. As such, people attuned the most with Ice will have various insectoid features, such as natural fur, antennae, or abdominal "tails" with tough carapaces.
