Last Summer, we put a good bit of effort into straightening the frame. The front rails were noticeably bent from the cross member to the front end. The rails get smaller towards the end and need some help.

I added some 3/16″ steel around the front end of the frame rails to strengthen it and give the steering box something beefier to hang onto. I also welded a piece of tube steel between the front frame rails.

The front bumper is bolted through the frame rails and the new front cross member. Drilling holes through all these pieces of steel wasn’t fun. Buy good drill bits!
