Rung's relying on pole dancing at 2Am implies that this poor fucker even though he is A.) canonically on the Prime's payroll and B.) has published papers that likely were supposed to get him cash, Rung:

1.) Has not been paid (in cash at the very least, not too sure about benefits like energon rations etc.) for a while and everything he did on the Lost Light as a therapist and possibly even prior was for free.

2.) Either being a stripper is more lucrative than being a therapist which I don't find likely considering Froid exists, or Rung is good enough at pole dancing to pay the bills on that alone.

3.) Someone taught him pole dancing

4.) There is a nonzero chance Rung invented pole dancing.

5.) Froid absolutely doesn't know about Rung's financial situation at all and therefore doesn't know just how one-sided and stupid their rivalry is with this added context.

6.) There is a nonzero chance that on Froid's end he might have actually seen Rung pole dancing and Froid's feelings about it can be summed up by the song Andrew in Drag.

I like the idea that, unfortunately, Rung's financial situation is as of a result of everyone chronically forgetting/misspelling his name and it only actually goes to him Rung once in a blue moon. Some bot out there named Rang keeps getting large amounts of mystery money and considers it a miracle

Also love the idea that RUNG POTENTIALLY INVENTED CYBERTRONIAN POLE DANCING. Do you think it started out as exercise and turned sexual later on, or started as a happy accident??

Certainly a possibility is that Froid just. Overcharges his patients to all hell and back by sheer fact of him being Froid. Sometimes he even has Sunder erase the memory so he can charge them twice.
