moonlight;  do you enjoy museums?

totally! and all kinds too!! i definitely have a preference for natural science museums, but any kind is cool as long as you have the company for it! my all time favorite experience at a museum though was at the museum of pop culture in seattle, man it’s just nerd heaven tbh

glow; do you have or want any tattoos? what of?

i don’t have any yet! but i do want a few actually, i just don’t know where! the first one i want is TKJESLKF the fuckin.. alkehestric reverse circle from fma just. on my body. (it represents a major turnaround that was a collaborative effort ok!! and i’ve always known i wanted a fma-related tattoo!). also... a horseshoe crab... somehwerehUAHUEh.

starlet; what historical period is most interesting to you?

honestly the prohibition era in america. it’s just one of those times that’s so long ago but also just recent enough that it feels surreal? but also all the shit people did to produce and consume alcohol was capital W Wild

3. Favorite musical artist / group you started listening to this year?

not really a new artist for me, but i’m a late blooming m1ka fan and i didn’t keep up with him for a while, but now i’M BACK BABY!!! he KNOWS MY WEAKNESSES INTIMATELY AND DESTROYS ME WITH MANY OF HIS SONGS!!!!

also oh wonder has a nice alternative sound! and @warmblackrooster introduced me to dry the river for that nice acoustic folk vibe!

20. What’s something you learned this year?

that i’m actually very adaptable and can become a morning person if pressed!! and that i’m actually pretty funny and good at public speaking! also, there are little colored caps you can put on the toes of cats so that they don’t scratch your furniture! also that sometimes WHEN U DRIVE WITH ICE ON THE ROOF IT FALLS OFF AND MAKES A LOUD NOISE AND U HAVE TO PULL OVER BECAUSE U FEEL TRUE TERROR

18) were there any works you read that affected you so much that it influenced your writing style? what were they?

Good 0mens tbh, for like. the long term. the voice that’s my default narrator is the same voice that i used to read good 0mens for the first time it’s just?? from beginning to end?? iconic?? ‘an angel who did not Fall so much as Saunter Vaguely Downwards’?? that was like from the character page?? the fuckin… character page?? I CONIC. also i had to buy the book in secret because my parents r super conservative cath0lic // chr*stian and the copy i had has the little devil logo on one side and angel logo on the other and they’d be like hMMMmmMmm so i bought it very Stealthy like and that experience also affected me tbh

(also to an extent artemis f0wl bc it’s like baby good 0mens in terms of narrative style and when i was younger i thought artemis was cool n shit but the older i get the more i look at artemis like …. son ….you have to stop)

23) any obscure life experiences that you feel have helped your writing?

tbh i’m not really sure if it counts as obscure? but weirdly i think the fact that i did a majority of my grocery shopping in college after midnight? like inhabiting a liminal space at a transitionary time to do extremely mundane things like.. that vibe…. i just think that’s the lived experience that’s helped me ground what would otherwise be OOC/cracky material into more tame fics and in my original works that mundane-but-not-really vibe is something i always aim to achieve 

also i think the fact that i was friends with some Wild Characters including a boy who used to have my house key and would sometimes come to my house to make us sandwiches bc he didn’t like his roommates & many others and i drank with these people on the regular

14. What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?

I JUST THINK WHENEVER PEOPLE TRY TO BE LIKE “SAID IS DEAD,” like. definitely it’s good to vary your sentence structure to avoid repetitiveness but the aggressiveness of the phrasing of that advice and like, how it’s usually attached to a bunch of synonyms for said that CAN GET reaLLY AWKWARD

ALSO IN GENERAL JUST REALLY AGGRESSIVELY PHRASED ADVICE THAT”S LIKE ‘NEVER DO X” BC I JUST FEEL LIKE EVEN JUST sAYING “NEVER” TO ANY SMALL THING IS LIKE, REALLY RESTRICTING PPLS CREATIVITY AND mAKING THEM NEEDLESSLY INSECURE AND NOT LETTING THEM EXPLORE THEIR WRITING/STYLES/PREFERENCES
