Hey guys! A little while ago, my friend @willowandsnow wrote a little something which I really liked, so whilst listening to ChopināsĀ āWinter Windā I wrote an alternative scene that is harsher (and not as good).

P.S I will be very busy for the next few weeks and probably wonāt post much... sorry.
Original (by @willowandsnow):
Youāre walking in a forest. The trees tower over you, like columns of a palace that has long since gone to waste. Snow covers the ground in a thick sheet, waiting to be taken off so the world can return from its slumber. You keep these thoughts to yourself as you walk along a road thatās barely visible. You donāt know where youāre going, but you hope itās warm and has a bed. A young man appears. He approaches you and greets you with a warm smile. āCare to walk with me?ā He seems kind enough, so you agree. As you are walking, he starts to speak. āMy nameās Jupiter, but you can call me Jude. Iād like to tell you a story...ā
My version:
It was cold. Very cold.
Strong gusts of wind blew against me, pushing back my hair and making me stagger. The trees towered over me, a palace that had long since gone to waste. The ground was a thick coating of snow, that seemed to be getting thicker the further I walked, and as the storm raged on I found it harder and harder to push forwards. I kept on the trail that was now invisible, the whistling of the wind piercing my ears at an incredibly high volume, as I continued to drag myself forwards. I didnāt know where I was going, and for that matter, I didnāt care. So long as it had a nice warm bed.
The wind gradually seemed to get quieter, and my vision went black.
Opening my eyes, I was relieved to see a crackling log fire in front of me, and a young man standing in front of me. He turned to face me with a warm smile and said,
āYouāre awakeā
Gradually mustering the energy to move, I began to look at the cosy room I was in. My eyes wandered over all of the furniture; a small piano, a grandfather clock, and an armchair. I looked down at my lap and saw I was covered in several blankets with a hot water bottle balanced on my chest. I opened my mouth to speak, but he simply said,
āAll of your things are hanging up drying. You had a pretty nasty fall on a rock, and you were out coldā
I felt a sharp pain in my side, as I lifted up the blankets to reveal a layer of bandaged skin covering up some wound. I winced as I turned over onto my back as I was before, putting my hand on my head and feeling another bandage covering my forehead.
āI...I donāt know what to sayā I thought-out-loud āThank youā
āIt is no big deal, youāre miles away from anywhere, so you wouldnāt have made it to the nearest townā he turned around to face the fire āWhere were you headed anyway?ā
I thought for a moment and replied
āI donāt know where⦠at least I certainly donāt remember whereā
āItās okay,ā he said moving towards the armchair āwe can always go somewhere when you are betterā
Pulling out a battered leather-bound book, he sat down and said,
āMy nameās Jupiter, but you can call me Jude. Would you like to hear a story?ā
