Half seconds of forgetting
It’s in that half moment where you turn to your side to say something to them, but they're not there. It’s in the split second where your eyes skim the room for the face that wasn’t there anymore. It’s in those moments of forgetting where the realisation is the sharpest and it stings in your throat like you’ve swallowed a wasp. And then you start to wonder if they're feeling those half seconds as well, of missing you... but then it hits you; you don’t even see them enough anymore to actually ask.
