“C’mon! Let’s do something!”
“We are doing something.”
“I mean something fun.” The girl pouts, and pushes the too-long sleeves of her coat back to her elbows, ignoring the fact that the sleeves slip down again almost immediately. “I’m bored.”
“Like what?”
“We could... see a movie.”
Her companion, the boy, frowns. “How’re we gonna get in? I don’t have any money. And you probably don’t, either, unless you stole something.”
“Hey! I didn’t steal anything! ‘Sides, I know a way in.”
“...Huh? Really?”
The pout leaves her face, replaced by a hint of a smile.“Yeah! It’s right through th’ side! My brother showed me.”
“...Huh.”
“Well? Are we going or not?”
“Sure. Lead the way.”
“All right!” The girl’s face breaks out into a wide grin, and she grabs her friend’s bandaged wrist, beginning to pull him along behind her. “C’mon, Nakamura-san! Let’s go!”
He stumbles at first, not expecting the sudden movement - though he really should by now, she does this all the time - but he quickly manages to get himself upright and running along with her. “I’m coming, I’m coming! Geez!”
“Not my fault you’re so clumsy!”
“Not my fault you don’t give me any warning!”
Kiyoko laughs as the two of them run, and Ryou can’t help but snicker a bit in return. It doesn’t take long for them to make it to the theater, considering they’re both pretty quick kids and they’ve been running the whole way. The two stop to catch their breath, and true to her word Kiyoko knows a way through the side, past the ticket seller and into the theater.
They find seats near the back - they don’t want to draw too much attention to themselves, since they aren’t supposed to be there, but it’s dark, and the two scruffy-looking kids go relatively unnoticed.
Neither of them remember what the movie is about afterwards, but they’re alright with that . The sheer excitement of being there, something new to both of them, and being somewhere they aren’t supposed to be is enough. It’s what Kiyoko - what both of them, really - had wanted. It was something fun.
