I'm the exact same way. I had to sit through a service tonight that crushed my faith in christians. The preacher was ranting against 'the homosexuals' as my parents were nodding and everyone had their hands raised yellin Jesus. I am a better person.
Truth. Reminds me of when my mom emphasized that she really wanted me to go to the service that was preaching against homosexuality because she knows I'm not homophobic like her.

On point my friend. And yeah, my family thinks I'm evil too. Oh no, she actually supports basic human rights! *gasp*
SAME. Like I had to learn to just not talk because anything I say about any kind of right for anybody that's not a straight white person gets me a "you're a kid and don't know anything" but that's what you get in a household filled with white, racist, homophobes.
My mother doesn't even like the fact that I'm a feminist. and ooohh I could write a book on all the horrible comments she made just tonight.
