long time no see ⟶ hodr & freyr
@freyr-mp
it had seemed that hodr’s time on the island hadn’t been absent of surprises in the slightest ― first the reunion of his mother, next the realization he had fathered a son, and now....well, as he stood staring at the one person from his past he felt didn’t actually hate him, that had quickly been added to the list.
the god of winter was highly out of place in a club such as minx ― standing tall above that night’s crowd, seeming to appear like he wanted to fight the performers instead of watch them, hodr stood out like a sore thumb in such an elegant place as this. regardless, he opted to make himself as small as possible, hiding in the shadows against the wall as he tried to keep his eyes everywhere but what was on stage at the moment.
and unfortunately (or fortunately) it resulted in the god seeing him.
freyr had been one of the few, if not the only one, who hadn’t immediately commanded his death upon the murder of his brother. the other was too nice for that, always getting along with hodr with a mutual trust throughout his youth ― the sight causes him to be flooded with memories of them relaxing in flower fields during spring, and sliding down snowy hills in the winter.
he had missed him.
although hesitancy is obvious in hodr’s approach, he was always one to bite the bullet (literally and figuratively) in order to get things done ― although the other god isn’t looking at him immediately, he takes his time in his approach, clearing his throat in an attempt to rise above the lull of the audience as their eyes finally meet in the shadows.
“ freyr? “
