i have a lot of OCs! i use an OC storage website to keep track, but even then, i don't have every single character there. but i have around 200, pretty much. at minimum!

the truth is, i have been creating my own little characters and stories since i was little. and, i tend to not easily let go of them, so several of them have been "evolving" over several years as i come back to them. thats why i have so many.

for example, some of my oldest OCs have origins from when i was around 8 years old! it helps that i keep pretty much, anything, so i can come back and discover what I was creating back in those days and rework them.

i go in phases as to which ones are the most on my mind, but since i have a lot....!!

mostly the ones i'm focused on these days are my touhou ocs ive been creating, like Crystal Future and Akane Kawase, and Lucky the harpy!

in fact, here is a little preview of a new touhou oc i am creating now:

i've been trying to work more on actually developing my ocs, since that is the hardest thing for me. like their personality, what drives them, things like that.

I was six or seven years old, sitting on the couch watching Star Trek TNG reruns with my father. Can't remember which episode it was, but Tomalok was in his second or third appearance so it was season 1 or 2, and the peaceful resolution confused me. Tomalok was a treacherous Romulan, yet Picard seemed to do everything he could to avoid just blasting the pointy eared asshole. My young American brain couldn't puzzle it through, so I asked my father, "dad, why doesn't Picard kill the bad guy? He's evil!"

He replied almost immediately, "because it would cause a war."

But ha, I immediately saw through a simple ploy. "The Enterprise could blast all the Romulans." The Enterprise D was by far the coolest thing I'd ever seen, so it made total sense that the flagship could lay waste to an entire fleet of D'Deridex warbirds.

"Even if it could, lots of people would die," the elder ginger replied. "Picard fixed the problem without people dying by being clever and persuasive. That's how kind, wise people solve their problems."

Okay okay okay i dont have any more design notes so here is every idea/theory ive been thinking about for like. What their canon lore deal can be

- theyre actors in a magical girl show but also the magical girl show is a real thing in universe so its kind of more like a documentary

- theyre the digital avatars of two hackers who like just commit tons of identity theft online

- they both work in the real actual toei animation ltd (aka the companany that does the anime for precure) as like grossly underpaid animators and r slowly stealing decades of keyframes and assets from the company's archives and repurposing them for their own grossly ill advised passion project

- they are spirits that only ever manifest in physical form during anime conventions and convention regulars remember them and love them but have no idea what their deal is

- theyre magic people and theres no twist to this one and i just get to do a complete and barefaced precure ripoff except made 2 pander 2 me

- they work at the mall.

- theyre idols cursed by the same dude that invented sisyphean curses to always have to work as idols but also only have like 1000 fans

- they live inside anime kigurimi trash dimension which is a realm completely populated by these things

Anime kigurumi trash dimension is where all of anime kigus go after having been thrown away by their masters from our dimension. Their job is to exhume the spirits from the kigurumi and kill the evil ones while keeping the good ones and making sure they are able to pass on happily or keep hanging around in anime kigurumi trash dimension if they want to

it used to be one of my big interests as a teen! I especially love producers who create universes and stories to link their songs together... the excitement of discovering the characters and the hype between new songs/albums, it’s a lot of fun imo...! I was a big fan of kagerou project in particular (like a lot of vocaloid fans around my age I think lol), shuuen no shiori, kururingo’s sorcerer family series... I also followed a lot of utaites/cover artists since the 2 communities are so closely tied :]

Y’know, I thought about doing some big personal ranking of them all a while back, but figured that’d be too self-indulgent.
